About Rosso's International...

Rosso’s International has been in business since 1992. Helena Rozo started her business by chance. At the time, she was a buyer for Filene’s Basement, a discount department store in Boston. After a back injury & surgery she decided to take a medical leave of absence. While recuperating in her home town country, in Colombia, South America she decided to follow her dreams and start her own business. She brought back to Boston, $200 worth of samples & exhibited at the Boston Gift Show. At this show she realized that 80% of her orders came from 3 ceramic wind chimes, so she decided to expand on this line and design chimes to suit the American market. Designing was natural to her since she grew up surrounded by her mother’s wholesale leather & clothing business. Helena paid part of her college education, modifying her mother’s clothing to meet fashion trends in the U.S & selling her designs to very exclusive boutiques in Boston & New York City.

Helena was very successful with the wind chime line & in 1997 she sold 20,000 pieces in QVC. 2 years later as Rosso’s International grew and South America could not longer meet her demand, she transferred the manufacturing to China. In the last 15 years she has focused in designing products that represent a good value. Her manufacturers call her the “Champaign lady” because they say that she wants Champagne at a beer budget. They understand her vision & realize that in order to be competitive, they have to work closely together to develop unique products that represent a good value. In 1998 Helena developed a fascinating line of motorized historical airplanes & hot air balloons. Her models were sold in air & space museums around the country including the Smithsonian Institution. In December of 2003 her airplane reproductions were exhibited at the presidential celebration of the Wright Brothers 100 year anniversary of flight.

In 2005, Helena saw great potential in the Lawn & Garden Industry so with her passion for the outdoors, designing the birdhouse classical collection was second nature. This new line was successfully launched with the opening of a showroom at “The Gardens” in Americasmart, Atlanta. In January 2008, her husband quit his job in order to help the business grow. Together they introduced an innovative line of 100% natural biodegradable pots, made out of bamboo & vegetables dyes. These pots are manufactured with a melting technique that is pollution free. Rosso’s International has received great praise for offering an alternative to plastic pots, including those used in nurseries which can’t be recycled & end up in landfills with a decomposition lifespan of 200 to 300 years. Helena, & Matt, now live in Florida. Their goal is to create awareness & encourage their customers to make a difference by carrying more environmentally friendly products.
